Creek Valley Middle School

Mr. Weaver has been the head band director at Creek Valley Middle School since the school opened in 2001. He directs the Wind Ensemble and teaches beginning trumpet and French horn classes.

Mr. Weaver spends approximately 150 days each calendar year presenting leadership and team-building seminars for teachers and students around the United States. Some of his more notable appearances include the Bands of America's Summer Symposium, Fall Marching Band Regional Championships, and Grand Nationals Championships; the nationally acclaimed George N. Parks Drum Major Academy; guest speaker at Columbine High School (CO); and serving as a consultant to the Charlotte/Mecklenburg School District (NC).

Before coming to Creek Valley, Mr. Weaver was the director of bands at Groesbeck Middle School in Groesbeck, Texas. While in Groesbeck, his middle school band was awarded the first UIL Sweepstakes award in the history of the school and was named a State Finalist in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series in 2000. He concurrently served as assistant director at Groesbeck High School where they were named State Finalist in the TMEA State Honor Band Competition in class AAA.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Mr. Weaver studied trumpet with Vince DiMartino, Bob Thompson, and Terry Everson.

Creek Valley Middle School

Ms. Jordon joined the staff at Creek Valley in the fall of 2007. She directs the Symphonic Band and teaches the beginning woodwind classes. Under her direction, the 07-08, 08-09, and 09-10 NV Bands were awarded "Best In Class" at the Springfest Music Festival and received UIL Sweepstakes trophies.

Ms. Jordon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a degree in both Flute Performance and Music Education. During her time at Texas Tech, she was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Flute Choir, and piccolo section leader of the Goin' Band from Raiderland.

Arbor Creek Middle School

Marty Nelson is the head band director at Arbor Creek. Prior to teaching in Lewisville, Mr. Nelson's top band at Coppell Middle School East earned a U.I.L. Sweepstakes trophy every year since it opened in 1993, and was a T.M.E.A State Honor Band Finalist in 2000. He was recently named Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Coppell I.S.D. Before coming to Coppell, Mr. Nelson taught for seven years at Shacklleford J.H. in Arlington, Texas, where the Honor Band came in third place in the T.M.E.A. Honor Band competition.

Mr. Nelson has also taught in the Houston area for the Spring Branch and Aldine school districts. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators' Association and the Texas Music Adjudicators' Association. He considers his most important affiliations be his wife Charlene, and son, Martin.

Arbor Creek Middle School

Mrs. Cooley is in her eighth year as assistant director of bands at ACMS. Her responsibilities include directing the Symphonic Band, assisting the Concert and Honors Band and teaching beginning brass and woodwind classes. The Symphonic Band under Mrs. Cooley has been awarded numerous 1st divisions and Sweepstakes trophies. The 05-06, 06-07 and 07-08 Symphonic Bands were awarded "Best In Class" at the Springfest Music Festival.

Prior to her appointment, she was a graduate assistant and a conductor of the University Wind Ensemble at West Texas A&M under Dr. Gary Garner. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators' Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.


bryan edwards

Killian Middle School

Bryan Edwards is in his 20th year as a band director and has been the director of bands at Killian Middle School since the school was opened in 2007. Prior to Killian he also opened the band program at Durham Middle School in Lewisville, Texas in 2002.

He was Director of Bands at The Colony High School in Lewisville ISD as well as Associate Director of Bands under Mr. Dick Clardy. During his stay at The Colony the band was named the 1996-1997 Texas State 5A Honor Band, performed at the MidWest International Band and Orchestra Clinic (1998), American Bandmasters Association (2000), Carnegie Hall (2001), 108th Tournament of Roses Parade (1997), State 5A Marching Finalist (1996, 1998, 2000, Bands of America Finalist (1996-2001).

His concert bands received Superior Ratings and were named outstanding ensembles at every contest entered including Winter Park Ski Music Festival, Southcoast Music Festival, Disney Magic Music Days and the University Interscholastic League Concert Band and Sightreading contest.

Mr. Edwards began his teaching career at Roosevelt High School in North East ISD located in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. While there his concert bands earned Superior ratings as well as numerous best in class awards. His Jazz Ensembles were named outstanding ensembles at the Jazz Along the Medina, SWT Jazz Festival and the University of Texas at Arlington Jazz Festival. Many of his jazz students were selected as members of the TMEA All State Jazz Ensemble.

Mr. Edwards graduated from Texas Tech University and holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree. During his time at TTU he performed in The Goin’ Band from Raiderland, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble 1, Symphony Orchestra and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. He was a trumpet student of Johnny Goodwin, John Irish and Dick Tolley and studied conducting with Gurer Aykal, Robert Rustowicz & James Sudduth.

Killian Middle School

Ms. Scheer is in her first year as assistant band director at Killian Middle School. A clarinet player from Coppell, Texas, Ms. Scheer was a member of the Texas 5A All-State Band for 3 years. She graduated from the University of North Texas where she performed in the UNT Wind Symphony and the UNT Symphonic Band. Prior to studying music education at UNT, Ms. Scheer was a student at Texas Christian University where she performed in the TCU Wind Symphony, TCU Symphony Orchestra, and the TCU Marching Band. Ms. Scheer is a third generation band director, and is excited about beginning her teaching carreer in the Hebron cluster.
