From the Carrollton Neighbors 2 Go section of the Dallas Morning News:

The Hebron High School Marching Band raised the roofs of homes in The Homestead at Carrollton neighborhood with its 11th annual March-A-Thon the morning of Aug. 27.

With instruments gleaming in the morning light, the band paraded through the streets as residents came out on their porches to see and hear the young musicians.

Family members and area residents formed a parade of their own along the sidewalks as they followed the band through the neighborhood. During the event, the band stopped to give a short performance at one of the neiborhood's park areas.

The fundraiser served as the kick-off to the band's marching season and a warm-up for its first football game appearance Friday.

Arbor Creek Honor Band

The Arbor Creek Honor Band placed 5th in the State of Texas in the Texas Music Educators Association State CC Honor Band Competition! The state is divided into 28 regions and 14 areas. The process began in early June with 106 of the state's best CC middle school bands submitting recordings to win the honor of representing their region. Two bands from each Region were then selected to go on to the area level of competition. At area those 56 bands were then narrowed down to 14, and those bands were judged today (July 24th) in San Antonio at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention. Way to go Eagles! We are very proud of you.
